5 Career Ending Mistakes New Bloggers Make

Don't end your blogging career before it starts!

In The Beginning

One of the most popular forms of creative expression, information distribution, and increasing source of news on the internet is known as Blogging

Not to mention millions of people use this platform to generate tons of money for sitting around and writing their opinions, or posting other bloggers post.

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with it, I have my own Blog.  I'm just stating the culture and environment in which we live today.  We are a click and post generation, so either join in or join out.

But before you start, you that there are some guidelines you must adhere to.  That's if you want to keep doing what you love.

First off, before we touch on our Career Enders, I just wanna say, that if you are attempting to start or run a Blog without any research or knowledge on the subject, you have severely killed any chance you had to have a successful Blog.  Many don't realize how much dedication and work goes into running a successful blog online.

Don't worry because I'm here to help!

And if you think this isn't something that you can do, you're wrong.  Some of the most popular Blogs on the internet were started by Bloggers like you, so you're in good company.

You'll be able to take what I'm showing you and use it right away to start improving your Blog or update your to-do list before you start.  Well, let's get to it.

1. No Connection With You Followers

It isn't possible for you to have a successful Blog site if your readers don't feel a connection with you.  You have to make them feel as if they are talking to a friend when they read your articles.

When they comment do you respond?  How long does it take you?  Is your tone right?  Readers watch and pick up on your vibe so be mindful of these things.

No one wants to visit a site where there is no engagement from the host.  They want to feel like they belong to something, that’s why they came in the beginning.

2.  What Do You Offer That’s Different?

As we mentioned before, there are millions of Blog sites with millions of Bloggers on the web.  So the question is what makes you different?  What is it about your Blog that’s going to leave a mark on your visitors.

Do you have a plan or strategy in place to stand out in a crowd?  You can post to your site ten times daily, but if your not different no one will bother reading it.

3.   Horrible Headlines

I have read a few awesome articles online, but it was through another site or reshare.  The headline for the article wasn't memorable or engaging and just plain didn't fit.

You must make the most creative title or headline for the post that you can.  It's the first thing a reader sees before jumping in.

Think out of the box when it comes to titles.  They have to jump off the screen and demand a click, so you can't pick the first thing that pops into your mind.  Put some effort into a good title.  It will pay off in the long run.

4.   Not Having A Strong Niche

There is something to be said about having good focus!  A huge mistake is having a generalized blog!

If you chose a niche and focus on that one thing, then you will have a loyal following.  They will see you as focused on the one thing they are interested in following.

There is true value in what you are providing them.  Now along the way, your niche could change, and that's ok.

Just don't try to be a jack of all trades and a master of none.

5.    You Don't Promote Yourself

After you have poured your heart into what you have written, why the hell wouldn't you want someone to read it?

Once you have published your article you need to share and share again. Use your other social media outlets to post links to your work.  Be proud of your Blog and let others know about it.

Wrap up

The goal is to put out good content that helps your readers.  In turn, they will share your work which gets more traffic to your site.  The more you write great articles, and interact with your readers, the less chance you have at making these career-ending mistakes as a Blogger.
