Take Time To Make Time
How many times a
week do you find yourself saying, "Oh I
almost forgot about that."
Is it because we
think our brains a working on autopilot, or we are more efficient than we
really are? Whatever the case there are
a few items that should be in every business owners arsenal.
Now if you're
telling yourself that you are good, this isn't for you, then you're exactly who
I'm talking to.
Separate Business And Pleasure
Now if you're
scheduling appointments religiously but you're mixing your professional ones

your personal ones, then you are defeating the purpose. You're leaving the door wide open for overlap to happen and that's not good.

your personal ones, then you are defeating the purpose. You're leaving the door wide open for overlap to happen and that's not good.
Try having a person
calendar, as well as a business one. It
may seem like extra work but in the long run, it will save you time as well as
missed revenue from double booking someone when your child's baseball game was
taking place.
You Must Confirm
There's nothing
worse than having an appointment not show up.
Even worse than that is going to meet a client at a restaurant or
designated venue, only to sit and wait and be stood up. It doesn’t matter if it's a long time
customer who you have history with, always confirm.
Things happen this
is life, people have kids, careers, thing that can come up at the last
moment. I feel it's ok to call the
morning of as just a friendly reminder.
Or, sending an email the day before to keep it in their minds. Anything you can do to ensure that you're not
going to waste an entire afternoon on one no show.
"A good old number 2 and note pad or calendar is fine for writing in
important dates and a weekly schedule".
Stay out of car as much as possible----meet halfway, on your turf, etc.…..
Try scheduling
appointments with clients in the same area if you're traveling to them. Time spent driving is time not working. Also, you're spending money on fuel that
could go elsewhere. Think about having
the clients to come meet you in your space or at least meeting halfway, as not
to endure unbeneficial cost.
Go Old School------Use A Calendar
With the many
different forms of electronics we have today, everyone is using the latest
greatest thing. Maybe, just maybe
staying old fashioned isn't such a bad idea in this instance. A good old number 2 and note pad or calendar
is fine for writing in important dates and a weekly schedule. It takes more time to load up some of these
newer programs than it does to write it in the regular way. No wasted time on computers leaves more time
to be productive.
These may seem
simple enough until you implement them in to your weekly game plan. You'll be amazed at the added productivity
and savings there is when scheduling becomes a daily routine.
